Beatin' And Bangin' With Our First Follower

Lee, from Longview, Texas had some responses to my POC-OH-NO piece.  So, here we go, this is part of all the fun.  My responses, where warranted, are in italics.

I agree, no surprise on Denny winning. I just hope that is luck doesn't turn in the chase like Kyle's did.

Kyle Busch is a jerk, and brings on his own bad luck.  When and if, he ever grows up, he'll be a Hall of Fame Driver one day.  Right now, he makes me wanna hurl.

As for Joey, I really wanted to see him get in Harvick's face. I am not a fan of Harvick and was so glad to see Joey finally stand up. He went from white bread to wheat bread. You know, a little more substantial that plain old white.

It was unfair that Joey got called to the "trailer". There were so many people holding him back he didn't even get near Harvick. Excuse me Nascar but didn't you say the gloves are off? Oh and Joey's comments about the Delana had me laughing so hard. Can't wait to hear what Harvick has to say about that.....

Harvick, is not allowed to speak, without permission or unless DeLana is pulling his string.  Logano should've been allowed to whip his ass.  I like Harvick, but he was a total ass in that situation.  Logano, earned mega-brownie points in my eyes, and the eyes of tons of fans with his reaction to the incident.  I totally agree, it's about time, and I'll bet you my next paycheck, that he doesn't have much more trouble from here on out.  Mark my words, this kid is gonna be a superstar one day, and he WILL make the chase this year.  Now, if we could just get Daddy to mind his own damn beeswax........

Was horrified to see that big wreck. So glad everyone was OK. Was glad Newman was able to make it across the finish line.

Rubbin' is racin', as Harry Houge said in Days of Thunder.  And Allmendinger raced like an idiot kid on the go-kart track.  But, Khane, doesn't have much of a team-player history either.

Kasey's comments were great too. Sorry but Almendinger is a pompous a@@ and Kasey's comments confirm that he is not a team player. Of course that was obvious when he let his PR people spread the rumor that he was taking over Elliott's ride. I hate to see Kasey leaving the #9 but I totally understand why. I love Petty but I am afraid that they are fading to the wayside.

The King is actually talking about taking his driving experience to the MIDDLE EAST!!!!  That shows you how hard up they are for cash.  I sadly, predict, that Richard Petty Motorsports is done after this year.

You really think that Jr. could be let go? He is the most marketable driver and I don't see Hendrick letting that get away from them but I do agree that his performance has been pretty bad. Don't think he can blame it on the car's performance anymore.

Unfortunately, Yes, I can see it.  Despite being life-long friends, Junior is simply not getting the job done.  He's also in the last year of his contract.  Kasey Khane needs a ride next year, and he's doing a better job than Junior is, in sub-standard equipment.  Hendrick, wants results, and obviously has some of, if not the best stuff out there.  Junior is not giving satisfactory results to him, and regardless of his marketability, he's most likely going to be looking for a job next year.  Look for him to hook up at RCR, but probably not in the #3.  But, that WOULD be cool, huh?  Besides, (and I am a Junior fan) you can only tolerate losing for so long, before it's time to move on.  Or will Lance McGrew, be the scapegoat here?  From what I've seen, McGrew is an idiot, as far as being a Crew Chief goes.  Don't be surprised if Junior, is updating his resume.

One last thing, so sad to see that Mark (Martin) will not be getting that elusive championship. Last year was his best chance.

That's as good as a benediction as I can think of, and I agree totally.  Amen.

Thanks for writing in, Lee.  Please do so anytime.  The rest of you, now that you see how it's done, I hope to hear from you all soon, too!!!

  1. Thanks, that was great. Also thank you for not saying he when referring to me. I am in fact a she.

What? A woman this into NASCAR? Hey, I get it honestly. Grew up watching Daddy race at the local dirt track and watching Wide World of Sports every Saturday to find out who did what the week before in NASCAR. My sister used to run out at Lonestar, back in the early days of the track. My brother is the pit crew for a local driver now.

We try to go to the local dirt tracks when we can. Talk about rubbin' is racin'..... If you happen to be out at the Rose Bowl or Lonestar look for the crazy redhead up in the stands in turn four.
