Today, Was MY Day!!

This is an open letter to all persons who've made fun of me and my sport over the last forty years:

You called us uneducated, moonshine-running, beer swilling rednecks. We took it in stride.

You laughed at us, saying our heroes weren't athletes and all they did was turn left. We never said a word about your favorite pitcher, or quarterback.

You thought we all had the IQ of a Turnip Green. We never said a word.

Then, we started to catch on to the rest of the world. You said, it would never last. We never said a word.

Then, you all started to jump on the bandwagon that we'd been on for years. We welcomed you with open arms, and never said a word about how you'd wronged us in the past.

Today, MY Hall of Fame opened. The NASCAR Hall of Fame. The most technologically advanced, fan-friendly and interactive Hall of Fame in the world. This time, I'm going to say something:

For all of you who thought we couldn't do it, Here's an invitation:

Kiss my flabby, PROUD redneck ass.
